چکیده

We have studied the charge dynamics of Sr-doped La2CuO4 at hole concentration p = 0.07. We observed a clear indication of the competition between two Wigner lattice orders: One corresponds to a Tc = 15 K superconductivity and the other to Tc = 30K. Our results naturally explain the recent observation of metallic transport in extremely low (1%) Sr-doped La2CuO4 and establish a novel insulator to metal transition mechanism and superconductivity in the 2D Wigner lattice ground state. We suggest that the fluctuations of the relative phase between the superconducting condensate and the Wigner lattice order account for the recent observation of the transverse Josephson plasmon mode. Direct Observation of Asymmetric Sr Diffusion in Sr--Doped La2CuO4

Superconductivity in copper oxides arises when a parent insulator compound is doped beyond some critical concentration [1]. In the case of La2CuO4 (LCO), high-Tc superconductivity is obtained either by substituting La 3+ with Sr 2+ or by inserting interstitial O 2[2]. Latest advance of the unique capabilities of layer-by-layer oxide molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) allows controlling the structural...

Superconductivity in LaFeAs1−xPxO: effect of chemical pressures and bond covalency

We report the realization of superconductivity by an isovalent doping with phosphorus in LaFeAsO. X-ray diffraction shows that, with the partial substitution of P for As, the Fe2As2 layers are squeezed while the La2O2 layers are stretched along the c-axis. Electrical resistance and magnetization measurements show emergence of bulk superconductivity at ∼10 K for the optimally-doped LaFeAs1−xPxO ...

Self-optimized superconductivity attainable by interlayer phase separation at cuprate interfaces

Stabilizing superconductivity at high temperatures and elucidating its mechanism have long been major challenges of materials research in condensed matter physics. Meanwhile, recent progress in nanostructuring offers unprecedented possibilities for designing novel functionalities. Above all, thin films of cuprate and iron-based high-temperature superconductors exhibit remarkably better supercon...

Metal-to-insulator transition and superconductivity in boron-doped diamond.

The experimental discovery of superconductivity in boron-doped diamond came as a major surprise to both the diamond and the superconducting materials communities. The main experimental results obtained since then on single-crystal diamond epilayers are reviewed and applied to calculations, and some open questions are identified. The critical doping of the metal-to-insulator transition (MIT) was...

Resonating Valence Bond Mechanism of Impurity Band Superconductivity in Diamond

Superconductivity in an uncompensated boron doped diamond, a very recent observation, is strikingly close to an earlier observation of Anderson-Mott insulator to metal transition, prompting us to suggest an electron correlation driven superconductivity in an impurity band. Random coulomb potential remove a three fold orbital degeneracy of boron acceptor states, resulting in an effective single,...
